The Forlana Consort arose from the mixed choir “Crescendo” of Zottegem.
Wouter Bossaer, the conductor of “Crescendo”, contacted Chantal and Koenraad and made the first proposals to create a vocal ensemble to work around Close Harmony and Flemish Polyphony. We contacted some more people and in June 2001 we were able to start rehearsals. In October 2002, during a stormy day, a first demo CD was recorded in the St. Margaretha-chapel in Wijlegem, Zwalm.
In March 2003 followed a first public appearance.
Besides adding lustre to numerous liturgies, the Forlana Consort was invited to sing during the museum-night in the historical site of Ename, in June 2004.
